Our Pathways
A Curriculum That Matters
The Academy offers a learning path for every student. Whoever you are and wherever you are in your academic journey, you belong at Pathways Early College Academy.
AA Pathway
In The Academy's AA Pathway, high school students can earn a high school diploma and Associate's degree in 4-5 years compared to the average 9.5+ year journey of students in traditional pathways. Finish your Associate's degree with us or transfer your earned credits to the school of your choice.
What Is The Difference?
We offer Articulated Courses and Dual Enrollment rather than AP Classes. Here's why.
AP
Classes
Colleges may not accept AP credits for certain scores or may limit the credits that can be transferred.
Additionally, if students are unable to score high enough on the cumulative test at the end of the course, they will not earn the credit that they worked the whole year for.
Articulated
Courses
Articulated courses are high school classes that offer college credit upon completion without a high-stakes test.

These courses expose students to college-level rigor and material in a supported high school setting. This introduction offers a seamless transition from high school to college.
Dual
Enrollment
Students in our dual enrollment program will be enrolled at Pathways College and Pathways Early College Academy.

Students will take college courses to fulfill their high school requirements and earn college credits. Students receive a college transcript to have credits transferred to their college of choice.
How Does It Work?
Self-Paced Learning
Student control the pace of their own learning. Students have the flexibility to learn at their own speed and can take as much or as little time as they need to fully understand a topic.

Students can access materials and assignments at their own convenience, which is especially beneficial for students who learn better through independent study.
Learning Support
The goal of learning support is to provide students with the tools and strategies they need to overcome academic challenges and succeed in their coursework.

At The Academy, these resources include one-on-one tutoring, academic coaching, study skills training, or accommodations for students with learning disabilities.
Applied Learning
Through our career symposiums, our curriculum emphasizes the practical application of knowledge and skills in real-world contexts. Rather than learning through lectures and essay writing, students actively engage in hands-on experiences, such as internships and project-based assignments.

This approach helps students to see the relevance and usefulness of what they are learning, and to develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in their chosen careers.
Mastery-Based Learning
Instead of simply completing coursework, students must prove their understanding and competency through assessments and evaluations.
Our mastery-based curriculum focuses on a student's ability to demonstrate mastery of a specific skill or knowledge before moving on to the next level.
What Does A Schedule Look Like?
Let's take a look at the 4-year schedule of a high school student pursuing an
