Tim Hoffman

Mr. Hoffman, a senior associate of PECA, is an experienced health care professional with accomplishments in line management, operational improvement and process redesign, organizational restructuring, strategic planning, project management, development and marketing of new services, physician relations, staff development, training and education.  He is also experienced in the design, development and implementation of cost accounting, budget development and productivity measurement/monitoring systems.

During his tenure with PECA, Mr. Hoffman has been involved with a number of materials management and supply chain projects including:

  • Re-engineering the perioperative services of a tertiary care North Carolina hospital including patient, product, and service flows.

  • Planning for the logistics of a major hospital expansion including supply chain (medical/surgical, pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, etc.) for a tertiary Philadelphia hospital.

  • Maximizing the application and utility of the materials management information system for a tertiary Philadelphia hospital.

  • Re-engineering the supply flow to the Emergency Department for a major Children's hospital.

  • Re-engineering the supply and equipment flow, including procedure based delivery system analysis and planning, for the perioperative services of a major Children's Hospital.           

Mr. Hoffman was a past president of the Delaware Valley Hospital Information and Management Systems Society as well as a member of the Board of Directors. He was also a past chairman and member of the Hospital Information and Management Systems Society of the American Hospital Association. He also serves as a Board Member of the Alumni and Friends Council of the University of Connecticut School of Business Administration, is a founding Board Member of the University of Connecticut Health Systems Management Alumni Council and is President of the Unionville-Chadds Ford Education Foundation.

His speaking engagements have included:

He authored several articles, which were published in Healthcare Financial Management, Trustee magazines, H.I.M.S.S. Conference Proceedings, Future Directions in Healthcare and Hospital Product Line Report.  Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science degree in Health Systems Management, School of Business Administration.
