Fred L. Meister, Pharm.D., FCSHP, FASHP
Fred Meister, an associate of PECA,
has over twenty-six years in the healthcare industry. His specialty is in
the area of Pharmacy and Therapeutics.
Dr. Meister's responsibilities have
Assisting the medical staff with
evaluation and clinical management of patients in addition to aiding the medical and
hospital staff in the provision of rational drug therapy through consultation, education
and development of practice standards and guidelines.
Participating as an investigator in
clinical research and coordinating various aspects of other investigational studies.
Participating in the provision of
educational programs for healthcare professional and community groups.
Facilitating communications between the
hospital, departmental and medical staff, having served on the Pharmacy and
Therapeutics/Medical Errors, Infection Control, Nutritional Support, Critical Care,
Cardiac Transplant, Continuing Medical Education, Pastoral Care and the Institutional
Dr. Meister is a Clinical Professor at
the School of Pharmacy, University of California, San Francisco and an Adjunct Clinical
Professor at the School of Pharmacy, University of the Pacific, Stockton, California.
He is also affiliated with the UCLA and UCI Graduate Programs in the Schools of
Nursing and Medicine.
Dr. Meister has authored over forty (40)
articles and publications in the area of pharmacy and healthcare. He has done
numerous national, international and notable presentations, as well as at the local, state
and regional level. He has been a Contributing Editor/Editorial Board Member for
Clinical Challenges in Acute Myocardial Infarction and Research
Digest in Vascular Disease. In addition, he has participated as a
member/consultant on numerous advisory boards including various healthcare organizations,
Fortune 500 companies and the Medical Board of California.
Dr. Meister did his undergraduate work at
Pasadena City College and received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Southern
California, where he also did his post-doctoral studies.
